Newmark's Strength of Materials Laboratory

Strength of Materials Laboratory is focused on providing training about various testing machines to the students. It also provides enough training to the students to perform compression test on various materials such as Concrete Cubes, Cement Mortar Cubes, Wood, Paver Block, Tiles, Bricks, Hollow Blocks, Hume Pipes, etc., and tensile test on Steel Rods and Wires. Survey Camp

As a part of the curriculum, Survey camp is conducted at the end of the fifth semester for the pre final year students. The camp duration is 3 days and it is carried out of the College premises. Camp covered the practical applications of survey on the field by enriching the student’s knowledge to be industry ready on the survey field.

Adam Niville Concrete Laboratory

The concrete laboratory is equipped with all the latest equipments for testing the quality of cement, fine aggregates and coarse aggregates, concrete cubes and sieve analysis of aggregates. The consultancy and testing activities are offered for customers from all over Tamilnadu both from private and government sectors. The durability tests are offered for various organizations. Testing and consultancy activities are carried out for various government agencies like Public Works Department, TWAD board, Highways Department and also for various private agencies.

Khosla Hydralic Engineering Lab-I & Visveswaraiyah Engineering Lab-II

The Hydraulics laboratory, established right at the inception of Civil Engineering Department, consists of two labs, one for machinery and another for flow experiments.

The laboratory has a floor area of 440.00Sq.m. It is fully equipped with all necessary equipment along with their accessories as required for courses (in Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering) as per the syllabus prescribed by Anna University. The laboratory has kept pace with modern technological advancements with the addition of new equipment as and when required. An underground tank with a capacity to store 55,675 litres of water & two small sumps for (Pelton wheel turbine & Kaplan turbine) and re-circulation system are established in laboratory I. An over head tank with a capacity 27,385 litres and an outside sump are provided to collect the water from the flow experiments. Refilling of water is done once in six months

    The laboratory building is provided with adequate ventilation, lighting and comfortable & enough seating arrangement has been provided for students to work. Routine repair and maintenance of all equipments is done by the lab technician with support from service engineer from outside whom, in addition, takes care of annual service.

Everest Survey Laboratory

The survey laboratory is equipped with all the latest survey equipments such as Total station, Auto level etc. Consultancy services are offered in the field of surveying of land and partition of land's properties in different districts of Tamilnadu. The survey camp is conducted for benefit of students as a part of academic curriculum.

V.T.Chow Computational Laboratory

The Computer Centre in the Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 1997 with an area of 1200 sq.m to provide knowledge on the computer based analysis, design & drafting to the students and to carry out research & consultancy services. The computational laboratory well equipped with all advanced facilities including 40 computers with latest software packages and printing facility.

John Pennycuick Computer Centre

John Pennycuick Computer Centre has been established during February 2017 with an area of 548 sq.m which provides a best platform for students to enhance their knowledge in the area of computer based analysis, design & drafting. John Pennycuick Computer Centre is well equipped and air-conditioned with the following facilities:
